"The most exciting part about being on tour is the live show itself. There is nothing like going out there and feeling the energy from a packed house that is there to see SNC. The joy that we bring to other people through our music is what brings a smile to my face."

A fantastic interview with some great questions! So much has happened with SNC since he did this, I wonder if any of his answers would be different now?

He is a talent that is hard to find and matches a perfect image with an incredible voice, polished instrumentals, and lyrics straight from the heart. Taking on a new adventure in a 10 piece act called Straight No Chaser he is slowly making his way to right where he belongs; the top.
What do you want to be remembered for when this is all said and done?
"That I did things the right way. That I treated the music with respect. That I listened."
Questions:
Where are you from originally?
What is your first memory of the guitar?
Where do you get inspiration for a new song?
Your solo career has taken a bit of a halt. Tell me about your current endeavor with Straight No Chaser.
How do you know Ryan Ahlwardt?
"Dreaming in Blue" is my favorite song that you will ever write. What is the meaning behind that track?
Describe your genre in one word.
What is the largest crowd that you have ever played for?
The smallest?
What is your favorite venue to play?
Staying single out there on the road?
Any plans for a new solo album?
Let’s get some pizza. What toppings?
What is pumping through your iPod right now?
Ever get nervous before a show?
Where can I get a copy of your latest solo album?
What are you drinking on stage?
Have you ever written songs with anyone else?
Where do you practice?
Who are some of your biggest influences?
How tall are you?
Let’s say you are about to headline at Madison Square Garden. Who is your opener?
Any rituals before you play a gig?
PC or Mac?
Where do you see yourself in five years?
What do you want to be remembered for when this is all said and done?
I always let the artist get the last word. Go.

Straight No Chaser seniors leaving

This article from the IU SNC days marks an important transition; the last concert for the mentioned five seniors, which included (then Music Director) Ryan and Mike L., and the first concert for the mentioned five new members, which included Seggie and Tyler. #awww

I wonder if the "entertaining video made by an alumnus" was one of those that ended up in the bonus features of the Live at the MAC DVD? I'll have to ask. If I find out for sure, I'll come back and edit this.

Although members of Straight No Chaser will carry their a cappella abilities away from IU, Ahlwardt said he feels as if the group has come full circle since he has joined. He said he is confident about the talent that Straight No Chaser will bring to the auditorium tonight and in the future.
